When The Spirit of The Lord is with us, there is no borders.
No better way to start the last month of this year than with a very successful missions convention in the Middle East. The newly minted Assemblies of God Middle East Network (AGMEN) has made a powerful impact with the very first convention aptly named “Beyond Borders”.
Led by the leaders of the PGCAG, General Superintendent Dr. Dave Sobrepeña, general Treasurer Rev. Jeremiah Balbuena, Head of the PGCAG Men’s Ministry Rev. Thimber Bugtong and Rev. Tony Ibarra from Germany, the 2-day convention was a big success.
In a ministry, a strong network and unity is an important catalyst in expanding the kingdom; which is why Beyond Borders kicked off with a Leaders Fellowship Dinner on Dec 5. It was an opportunity for the leaders and workers to get to know acquainted and build connections with each other. This is an important aspect because proper coordination is definitely needed in expanding the work of The Lord in that region.
There have been churches that have been established in the region however the leaders are coming from a background of bi-vocational employment and are without proper theological training and background, that was the purpose of the main convention held on Dec 6. The leaders of the PGCAG flew in from the Philippines and led the charge in the main convention.
Around 300 church leaders attended the conference and at the end of it, they were equipped, encouraged and fired up. Building up strong, passionate and encouraged leaders hits 2 major spectrums of the ministry. The first is that the AGMEN will now have better leaders in each church. The second is when the AGMEN leaders finish with their contracts in the Middle East, they can take that same anointing and passion for the ministry back with them when they return to the Philippines.
